Her Ex-Husband

When he was young, Ted Bessell wanted to become a classical musician, but he changed his mind. While in high school, he played lacrosse, but after moving to college, he decided to shift to acting. While in college, Janeen’s ex-husband took part in dance and acting lessons.

While studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre, he met actor Sanford Meisner who worked in professional acting groups. He did some side hassles to meet her daily financial needs.

Her Ex-Husband’s Career

On television, Janeen’s ex-husband appeared on the game show Who Do You Trust? He also appeared on the variety show The Dick Clark Show. Ted was more involved in theatre works and off-Broadway productions, including The Power of Darkness. He was also involved in directing and producing, and some of his early works include Crimes of Passion.

Ted Bessell then relocated to Los Angeles and landed minor roles in The Outsider, Lover Come Back, and Look Homeward, Angel. He also appeared in It’s a Man’s World, Don’t Drink the Water and Your Money or Your Wife which he won a Peabody Award. In 1966, Ted’s acting career improved when he landed a role on the television show That Girl.

Janeen’s ex-husband played Donald Hollinger, Ann Marie’s boyfriend. Actress Marlo Thomas portrayed Ann Marie. Ted was part of the cast for five seasons until the show ended in 1971. After That Girl, he looked for other acting roles landing one in Me and the Chimp. On the sitcom, he portrayed dentist Mike Reynolds, but it was not successful.

Janeen’s ex-husband then had a lead role in Bobby Parker and Company. A year later, he had a minor role in The Mary Tyler Moore Show. His other projects before his death were Hail to the Chief and Sibs, which he directed.

The Death of Her Ex-Husband

Before his death, Janeen’s ex-husband was sick and hospitalized at a medical center, where he was managed and monitored. Unfortunately, he died of a ruptured aortic aneurysm on October 6, 1996, in Los Angeles at the University of California Medical Center. He was 61 at the time of his death. Ted’s remains were buried at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in California, United States of America.
